It has been some time now that foreign investors have already expressed interest in undertaking energy projects in Cyprus, focusing on the development of the necessary infrastructure for the exploitation of natural gas.

This sector will create new job openings in the construction and services fields, and is expected to bring an inflow of services companies which will set up their business in Cyprus.

Energy might be at its infant stages in the country, but it is considered to be the island’s future prosperity that will bring revenue and other benefits to Cyprus.

The Cyprus fund industry has experienced growth in recent years due to a number of regulatory developments. The recent transposition of the Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) IV Directive, where Cyprus offers a European passport to the Fund Management Industry, is expected to enhance the country’s status as an attractive jurisdiction for investment funds.

Also, measures are being implemented for the transposition and the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) in order to offer outstanding possibilities for cross-border distribution.

Cyprus has built a strong position as an international hub for Forex investments, which has grown considerably over the last few years and is contributing to the country’s growth and providing employment opportunities to sector professionals.

The business world is being optimistic and believes that the island will overcome this difficult period and Cyprus will prevail again.
